Yes. A typical Malaysia loves to eat in Malaysia. There's plenty of variety of food. In Malaysia, FEW people died of aneroxia or hunger. They mostly die because of obesity.
As a paradise of cuisine, Penang has indeed a whole range of delicious cuisine that attracts many visitors to the island. One such delicacy is the ubiquitous Penang Tau Sar Pheah. It is widely
enjoyed by both locals and tourists. Penang tau sar pheah in
Hokkien, is basically a baked biscuit with thin layers of flaky pastry
and mung beans filling. There are many brands of this biscuit in Penang,
but the most famous one will be the Ghee Hiang and the Him Heang brand.
A trip to Penang will not be complete if you don’t buy a few boxes of
this biscuits to take home with you to share it with family and friends.
Look at this! Doesn't it look delicious? OMG WHEN IT GOES INTO YOUR MOUTH, I GUARANTEE THAT CRUNCHY-NESS AND THE GREEN BEAN (Tau Sar) WILL MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE IN HEAVEN. (I apologize for exaggerating but I cannot describe how deep my love is for Tau Sar Pheah)
Okay. Okay. Here's how it looks like if I cut it into half. BEAUTIFUL RIGHT?

Where to get one? If you're at Kuala Lumpur, you can find them anywhere. But I would highly recommend you to run to Oloya in Petaling Street. Although it's selling dried meat, the bakeries aren't bad either. THEY'RE REALLY CRUNCHY AND DELICIOUS! The tau sar pheah is sold at RM 0.40 per piece. ISN'T THAT CHEAP?
But if you REALLY want to taste the most DELICIOUS Tau Sar Piah, go to Penang! Him Heang, the shop famous for their Tambun Biscuits, is just obliquely opposite the 1926 Heritage Hotel on the right of the Main Entrance of the hotel. It is open on Mondays to Saturdays from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m and you can’t miss it because there are usually cars queuing outside. This is the most delicious Tau Sar Piah you can ever find in Malaysia!!!
Now.. QUICKLY DRIVE or FLY or RUN or WALK or SWIM or TELEPORT to PENANG if you want to have a taste of heaven ;D
Debbie.
